My Philosophy:Healing Happens in Relationship, Not Isolation

My Relational Approach to Trauma-Informed Therapy

At the heart of my therapeutic work is a simple but powerful truth: healing happens in connection. Over the years, I’ve found that deep transformation rarely comes from clinical techniques alone: it begins in the safety of a genuine, attuned relationship.

I don’t hide behind credentials or use frameworks as barriers. Instead, I offer a space that’s both secure and expansive, where your full self is welcome, and growth can unfold naturally.

Compassionate, Collaborative Care

With a background as a dual board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist, I see psychotherapy as a collaborative journey, not a one-sided treatment. In my work at Refuge Psychotherapy and in past psychiatric settings, I’ve witnessed how authentic human connection catalyzes healing. I bring a relaxed, grounded presence to the therapy room so that both of us — client and therapist — can show up fully and honestly.

Therapy Rooted in Depth, Wisdom & Flexibility

My approach is shaped by education and experiences as well as the insights of Dr. Carl Jung, Dr. Carl Rogers, Dr. Irving Yalom, and Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-Estés. Their work reminds me that vulnerability and strength are not opposites: they’re companions on the path to healing.

  • I integrate multiple therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs, including:

    • Psychodynamic Therapy

    • Experiential

    • Internal Family Systems Informed

    • Trauma-Informed

    • Cognitive-Behavioral

This flexibility allows us to co-create a path that honors both where you are and where you’re going.

Safety, Structure & Emotional Depth

I hold clear therapeutic boundaries while cultivating a space where you feel truly seen, safe, and valued. That balance — between structure and connection — is essential for deeper emotional work.

When you feel secure in the relationship, you’re more likely to access difficult emotions, confront long-held patterns, and move toward meaningful change.

Mindfulness Tools for Trauma & Self-Awareness

I often incorporate simple, evidence-based mindfulness practices that support nervous system regulation and emotional awareness. These tools are not one-size-fits-all; they’re offered gently and collaboratively, and only when they serve your process.

Whether it’s grounding techniques, breathwork, or reflective practices, we’ll use what supports you best in the moment.

A Relationship That Honors Your Story

My commitment to relational, present-centered care continues to evolve with each client I meet. I remain deeply curious about how to serve those who seek refuge here and how to keep creating a space where healing, growth, and connection can take root.
