Confidentiality & Creating a Safe Therapeutic Space

Insurance & Payment

Refuge is currently a private-pay practice, which means I do not contract directly with insurance companies. However, I provide detailed superbills (receipts) that you can submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for out-of-network mental health services.

I accept payment via credit card, debit card, HSA/FSA cards, or check. Payment is due at the time of service.

  • Beginning therapy starts with a free 15-minute phone consultation where we can discuss what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you have about my approach, and determine if we're a good fit for working together. If we both feel it's a good match, we'll schedule your first appointment.

Before our first session, you'll complete brief intake paperwork that helps me understand your history and current concerns. Our initial session focuses on getting to know you, understanding what's brought you to therapy at this time, and beginning to develop a collaborative treatment plan.
